DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) F. Kroeber & Co., New York, N.Y., "Polaris" parlor clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement in a walnut case, c1880; (2) New Haven Clock Co., New Haven, Conn., "Elbe" parlor clock, 8 day, time and strike with alarm, spring driven movement in a walnut case, c1880.
CONDITION:
(1) The walnut case has been nicely rubbed down. The paper dial is very worn. Original hands. Nice original glass with a subtle "FK" integrated into the floral design. Two paper labels are nearly complete, though dark and partially obscured by a third small retailer label. Original "Star Crystal" pendulum often found on Kroeber clocks. Signed beat scale with a little paint loss. (2) The case has an original finish which is a has a fine alligator texture in some spots. Painted metal dial is good. Hands are mismatched. Pendulum is probably original. Dark, but complete rear paper label. Dimensions are for the New Haven (2). Sold "as is ".
